Israel’s prime minister will return to Washington next month to promote his plan to withdraw from the Gaza Strip. Ariel Sharon, whose attendance at the annual AIPAC conference May 16-18 was confirmed Monday, also is likely to meet with President Bush during the visit. Another Bush-Sharon summit, coming after the May 2 Likud Party referendum on the Gaza withdrawal plan, would expand on details of Israel’s plan for disengagement from the Palestinians.
