Israel’s Radio System Forbidden to Make Recordings of Handel’s ‘messiah’

The Board of Directors of the Israel Radio system has forbidden the recording of Handel’s Messiah by the Government-owned radio’s recording department. The oratorio is currently being performed in the Abu Ghosh music festival. The board’s decision was reportedly taken because of the “Christian spirit” of Handel’s opus.
