Israel’s Shimon Peres said he would back expelling Yasser Arafat to Gaza. “We have to handle this matter with intelligence, and not just force,” the Labor Party leader told Israel Radio on Sunday, referring to declarations by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon that Israel’s pledge to the United States not to hurt the Palestinian leader is no longer binding.
