Issak Wahl, a professor of plant pathology at Tel Aviv University, is the first Israeli scientist to receive the $35,000 Haifa Technion Harvey Award. Another winner is Princeton University Orientalist Prof. Bernard Lewis. The awards, named after Leo M. Harvey of Los Angeles who died in 1973, will be formally presented at a ceremony June 28.
