On the last day of the Congress of the Catholic Popular Party, the Palestine question came up for discussion. On the subject of foreign policy, it was declared that Italy must occupy in the Mediterranean the leading position, which is its right geographically and historically.
On the resolution being put to a vote, ###on Sturzo, the leader of the Party, declared the absolute need of guaranteeing “our demands in relation to the religious problem in Palestine, and the Italian rights to the Casnancolum. As Italians and Christians we shall never permit the British speculation or the Jewish profanation.” The resolution in question was adopted unanimously.
