Italian Firms to Participate in Huge Mineralogical Survey in Negev

The possibilities are good that Italian firms will participate in a projected 500, 000 pound mineralogical survey of the Negev, Ministry of Development officials disclosed here today.

An Italian delegation has just completed a three-week tour of Israel, inspecting mines in the Negev and advising the Israelis on Italian mining techniques, particularly in the exploitation of phosphates.

Meanwhile, the head of an Italian chemical firm is now in Israel negotiating with the officers of the Dead Sea works for the purchase by Italy of large quantities of phosphates and other minerals recovered from the Sea.
