Statisticians of the N.Y. Tuberculosis Association declare that Russian Jews and Italians resist tuberculosis more successfully than the rest of the population.

The total Jewish population including children of immigrants, is estimated at 1,600,000. The Italians on a similar basis number 807,048. These two races are said to have a birth rate much higher than the "older stock".
