The Joint Distribution Committee today announced that about 20,000 Jewish boys and girls in Europe and North Africa will spend their vacation in various mountain or seaside resorts under the J.D.C. summer camp project.
The J.D.C. will also help to pay the travel expenses and maintenance in the summer colonies as well as medical care and educational and recreational guidance for the young vacationers. During the past four years more than 50,000 youngsters have enjoyed J.D.C. summer vacations. This number included 35,000 in 1947; 15,500 in 1948; 11,800 in 1949; and 10,800 in 1950.
