The Joint Distribution Committee announced today that more than $300,000 has been received in the last four days in response to its appeal for an emergency fund of $1,000,000 to meet the problems arising from the mass deportations of Polish Jews from Germany and recent events in Czechoslovakia and Austria. In New York alone, more than $50,000 was raised. Rabbi Jonah B. Wise, national campaign chairman, expressed the belief that the goal of the emergency fund would be realized within a short time.
