A torchlight parade on Sunday in observance of Lag B’Omer and in preparation for the Jewish National Fund’s Palestine Flower Day, has been organized by the youth division of the Jewish National Fund Council of Greater New York.
More than 2,000 members of Jewish youth organizations will participate in the parade, with the marchers assembling at Union Square at 7 p.m. and proceeding through Fourteenth Street, to Second Avenue and East Broadway. The parade will pause at Rutgers Square for a rally, at which Charles A. Cowen, Zionist lecturer, will be the chief speaker.
