Jacob Glatstein, noted Yiddish poet, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Hebrew Letters degree at the commencement exercises of the Baltimore Hebrew College. In making the presentation, Dr. Louis L. Kaplan, president of the College, cited Mr. Glatstein as “a man who, in more than half a century of creative writing in poetry and prose, had demonstrated the vitality and dynamism of modern Yiddish literature.
