A theological student in jail with seven other youths pending trial on charges of assassinating Michael Stelescu, Rumanian Crusader leader, as he lay ill in a hospital last July 16, was yesterday elected president of the National Union of Rumanian Students. He is Jon Caratanescue, who has achieved local notoriety as an anti-Semitic agitator.

Seven student adherents of the anti-Semitic Iron Guard were arrested today at the University of Cluj for the attempted murder of Jon Gheorgiu, a police officer. Gheorgiu was in serious condition in the hospital after he had been beaten up.
