Jean-Marie Le Pen cannot run for the presidency of a key region in southern France, the region’s senior government official said. The prefect of the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur region — which includes sizeable Jewish communities in Marseille and Nice — said Wednesday that the far-right leader does not meet the necessary residence qualifications to allow a run in next month’s elections.
