Foreign Ministry sources said today that the United Nations peace envoy Ambassador Gunnar V. Jarring was believed to have asked the Egyptian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Riad not to return to Cairo until Israel’s Foreign Minister Abba Eban returns to New York. Mr. Riad today delayed his departure from New York. Mr. Eban is due in New York at the end of the week.
