Mayor Shlomo Shragai of Jerusalem arrived in Washington today and was welcomed to the city by Joseph Donohue, Commissioner for the District of Columbia. Earlier in the morning he visited Baltimore where he was welcomed by the mayor of the city.
The Jerusalem mayor, accompanied by Israel Ambassador Abba Eban, visited the State Department and discussed Jerusalem’s problems with Burton Y. Berry, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs. He invited Mr. Berry to Jerusalem to attend the festival to be held there next Spring in celebration of the 3,000th anniversary of the city.
