Jew May Be Candidate for Mayoralty in Hartford

The possibility of a Jewish candidate in mayor is talked of in political circles here. Both the Democratic and Republican parties are now making platt for the campaign and while each an still reluctant to mention the names which will be brought to light when the roster of candidates is called it in believed that among them there will be found a Jewish candidate.

Among the possibilities in the Democractic ranks is Louis Schatz, forme State Senator, and now associated with Judge Nathan A. Schatz of the City Court of Hartford.

Another recent appointee for office in this city was Attorney Samtel Rosenthal who was named Associat Judge on the City Court bench for a term of two years. Judge Rosenthal has been placed in charge of the small claims court, a new feature in this city, and his efforts have already drawn attention to the affairs in his jurisdiction.

Among other Jews who may become aspirants for the mayoraity office and have been repeatedly spoken of are Saul Berman, referee in bankruptcy, Judge Solomon Elsner and ex-Senator Herman P. Koppleman.
