The Jewish Agency executive today tentatively fixed the date and place of the next World Zionist Congress. It is to be held in Jerusalem in August, 1949. A special committee to prepare plans for the Congress has been named.
The Jewish Agency executive named its chairman, Berl Looker, and S.Z. Shragai and Moshe Kolodny to negotiate with the Israeli Government on the transfer from Austria and reburial of the remains of Theodor Herzl. The Agency has already rejected a government suggestion to arrange the reburial on the day that the new parliament is opened in Tel Aviv. The Agency proposes that the remains be reburied in the courtyard of the future Parliament building which it expects to see constructed in Jerusalem.
