Jewish Agency Spent $10,000,000 in Giving Aid to Flood Victims

The Jewish Agency spent some $10,000,000 in rescue operations during the past two weeks, an Agency spokesman told the press last night.

He revealed that the Agency had mobilized some 5,000 relief and rescue workers and also established a special rescue headquarters on the premises of the Agency here, Thus far, he said. about 1,000 of approximately 1,700 evacuated families have returned to the immigrant camps and the remainder are expected to follow within a few days.

Some 6,000 prefabricated wooden huts will be set up in Israel by the middle of February at a cost of 1,500,000 pounds, according to a report to the Knesset Labor Committee. They will be used to replace ### which were damaged or destroyed in the recent storms. The report, presented last night by representatives of the Jewish Agency and the Labor Ministry, said that 5,000 of the huts would be imported from Austria and Italy while the remaining 1,000 will be made locally.
