Jewish and Arab Railway Workers to Amalgamate

A joint conference of Jewish and Arab railway workers took place at Haifa for the purpose of discussing the question of amalgamation. A committee was appointed to take further steps in the matter.

The trade journal of the Jewish railway workers, ”The Locomotive” will from now on appear also in Arabic.

The decision of this conference create a new labor situation in Palestine. Up till now the trade union movement was almost exclusively participated in by the Jewish workers, It is now, however, beginning to spread among the Arabs, who are showing a willingness to co-operate with the Jewish workers.
