Jewish candidates scored victories in primary elections across the United States. The right to run in November’s general election in the U.S. House of Representatives was won Tuesday by Gabrielle Giffords and Ellen Simon in Arizona, both Democrats; Steve Kagen in Wisconsin, a Democrat; Paul Hodes in New Hampshire, a Democrat; and Alan Fine, a Jewish Republican in Minneapolis who will face Keith Ellison, a Democrat who could become the first Muslim in Congress.
