Jewish concerts have met with great success in a number of cities in Siberia and in the Urals; according to a report from the Soviet Union published in the Warsaw Yiddish newspaper “Folkshtimme” which was received here today. This is the first time that Jewish concerts were given in that part of the Soviet Union.
The report says that Jewish workers and students filled the concert halls to capacity in the cities of Irkutsk, Sverdlovsk Omsk, Uta Cheliabinsic in their hunger for Jewish music and Yiddish songs. In Sverdlovsk two concerts were given at the local philharmonic orchestra hall and tickets were all sold out.
