Delegates to the biennial convention of the Women’s Division of the American Jewish Congress adopted at the closing session today a resolution urging the U. S. Senate to ratify the United Nations international convention against genocide, which outlaws mass-annihilation of groups such as the Nazi destruction of European Jewry. Mrs. Charles L. Snitow of Scar stiale, N. Y, was elected president.
In other resolutions, the delegates voiced “vigorous opposition” to the channeling of federal anti-poverty funds to church groups and parochial schools and warned that segregationists could establish private schools, to avoid integrating public schools, by using shared-timd and other provisions of the Administration’s education aid bill.
In another resolution, the United States Government was urged to give firm support “publicly and clearly stated, in behalf of Israel’s use of Jordan River waters for irriga-tion purposes.” Another resolution asked United States help to persuade West Germany to resume arms deliveries to Israel.
