Strengthening of Jewish culture in Poland was the chief theme of a meeting here of teachers and directors of all children’s homes sponsored by the Central Committee of Polish Jews. The parley was called to review future plans for the institutions. In addition to the teachers, officials of the Central Committee and social workers attended the meeting.
M. Sachariash, a leader of the Jewish community in this country, emphasized that children should be brought up in the “spirit of internationalism” so as “to unite them with Poland’s reality against Jewish nationalism, while (at the same time) popularizing the Jewish language.”
The Ministry of Education today decided to give the ORT’s weaving school in Bielsk the full rights of a government school. The institution, only for adults, offers a two-year training course.
