A call to Jewish parents throughout the United States to observe Jewish Education Month which starts on Sunday was issued here today by the American Association for Jewish Education.
Pointing out that “only by a truly complete Jewish life can your children serve as instruments in the making of a better world,” the appeal says: “The unmistakable obligation of Jewish education today, as never before is to synthesize the ideals of Jewish religion and American democracy; to transmit the knowledge of these principles and institutions to our growing generation; to build better Americans and better Jews at a time when we are in desperate need of both.”
The appeal urges Jewish parents to enroll their children in Jewish schools, or to give them the opportunity to finish courses which they already attend. It emphasizes that no child can receive the full advantage of a Jewish education if he remains at school only a short time.
