A movement was started here today by the Federation of Jewish Organizations, composed of 38 local Jewish civic and benevolent organizations, to influence all representatives of Ohio in the United States Congress to defeat proposed registration bills now before the House of Representatives.

At a meeting of the Federation the question was brought to the attention of the delegates representing the various constituent organizations by the president, Samuel Fenster, who explained the situation and demanded that the Federation start a movement against the bills.

A resolution offered by assistant prosecutor A. I. Hausmand, declaring that “the desire to force the registration system upon immigrants is strongly condemned and Cleveland’s three representatives in Congress are called upon to take a stand against the proposed registration” was unanimously passed. It was also decided to call a great protest meeting and to organize all foreign elements in the city and state to cooperate in work against the bills.
