A delegation of Jewish leaders emerged from meetings with key Rockefeller administration officials today and voiced optimism that legislation exempting Sabbath observers from the State Sunday-closing law would be passed this year.

Jewish organizations represented in the conferences with Rockefeller administration officials included the American Jewish Congress, Jewish War Veterans, New York Board of Rabbis, New York Federation of Reform Synagogues, Rabbinical Council of America, Sabbath Observance Council, Union of American Hebrew Congregations, the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations, and the United Synagogue of America. The conferences were coordinated by the New York City Committee on Jewish Affairs.
