Jewish industry is expected to benefit from the appointment of a War Supply Board to insure maximum production for the war effort and safeguard essential needs of the community, which was announced in the official Palestine Gazette yesterday.
The board is empowered to coordinate and expand industrial capacity for the purpose of production of vital supplies and to render assistance to industry.
Chairman of the board is douglas Harris, Government commissioner for Special Duties. Other members are Julius Jacobs, who is secretary; Geoffrey Walsh, Government economic adviser, and the departmental directors Sandford, Herson, Wilson and Brown.
