Jewish Leaders Bid Fare Well to Dr. Eliav, Israel’s Consul General

Leaders in all walks of Jewish life, as well as diplomats from various countries, said farewell last night to Dr. Binyamin Eliav, Consul General of Israel, and his wife, on their return to Israel. The farewell party was given by Ambassador Avraham Harman of Israel.

Among the Jewish leaders present were heads of all Zionist groups in the United States, leaders of the American Jewish Committee, American Jewish Congress, Joint Distribution Committee, Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds, and others. Dr. Eliav, who took up the post of Israel Consul General in New York nearly two years ago is scheduled to leave the U.S. on December 26.
