Sensational reports in today’s Arab press about a ninety-nine year lease of 30,000 runams of land in Transjordania to Jews, were denied by Jewish leaders. The Jewish Telegraphic Agency was informed that the stories in the Arab papers probably concerned a lease made last year and which was renewed recently.

The Arab press stated that Emir Abdullah’s government had determined to issue a law limiting land leases to three years and prohibiting the lease or sale of land to foreigners.
