Jewish leaders expressed sorrow at the death of New York’s longtime archbishop. Cardinal John O’Connor, who died at 80 after battling brain cancer, “promoted harmony among the many diverse religious communities of New York and forged a close bond with the Jewish community,” said Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League.
