Charity certificates issued to the unemployed poor and exchangeable at “Aryan” shops for shoes and clothing may henceforth also be exchanged at shops owned by Jewish war veterans, the Ministry of Economics announced yesterday.
The new ruling provides, however, that the Jewish shop owner must have suffered a sixty per cent injury in the War. This is generally taken to mean that the war veteran is minus two limbs.
The number of shops owned by Jewish veterans of this class is small, since most such men are unable to work.
