Out of ten musical prodigies elected at Leningrad from all of Russia in connection with the celebration of the October Revolution, eight are Jewish. Their names are Isis Slonim, 12, pianist and composer; Lenia Goldberg, 12, cellist; Boria Levit, Monia Dreiser, Boria Grodzinski, violinists; Yasha Babel, pianist and Danis Hoffman, cellist.
The work of Margarete Cheifez, 10, composer, who conducted a full symphonic orchestra which played the complicated works of Rimsky-Korsakov, aroused great enthusiasm.
