Substantial stretches of land in the previously demilitarized zones along Israel’s borders will be opened and prepared for Jewish settlement, Dr. Milton Aron, executive vice-president of the Jewish National Fund of America announced today following his return from Israel.
A fleet of bulldozers has already been moved into these regions, Dr. Aron reported, in preparation for eventual cultivation and terracing of the landscape to make them fit for settlement. The JNF executive also reported that the Fund has launched the Jerusalem Park of Heroes, commemorating the Israeli soldiers who lost their lives in the battle for a re-united Jerusalem. American Jewry, Dr. Aron said, will be called upon to bring to fruition both the reclamation program and the park.
