Jewish negotiators were left with little hope of reaching a settlement on Holocaust-era claims after a daylong meeting at the U.S. State Department. Swiss banks again said their best offer for settling Holocaust-era claims was $600 million and the Jewish side repeated that the amount was insufficient. No further talks are scheduled.
