Jewish questions loomed large in the discussion of the International Students Service Conference in session here. Two Jewish students, Rabinowitch of Berlin and Teich of Vienna are attending the conference.
The agenda included a discussion on the persecution of Jewish students in Roumania. The representative of Roumanian students denied that persecutions existed, but his argument was silenced when the Jewish representative presented reports published in the Roumanian official press, confirming the existence of such persecutions.
A conflict also developed with the Hungarian delegate over the numerus clausus practiced against Jewish students and over the anti-Semitic movement. The conference went on record as being opposed to the numerus clausus, terming it “improper.”
The resolution voices the demand that no discrimination be made against students on religious, national, racial or political grounds.
