Following the order introducing “Jewish passports” for Jews in all parts of France, the Paris radio today announced that the word “Jew” will be stamped on all Jewish ration cards.

Large-scale arrests of Jews continue in the formerly unocoupied part of France, aceording to reports reaching here from Vichy. With German soldiers stationed in every city in France, the local non-Jewish population is prevented from displaying its opposition to the round-up of Jews as it did when the arrests of the Jewish men, women and children were carried out by French police authorities. The position of the Jews, therefore, is growing more and more precarious every day, the reports emphasize.
