Jewish Scientist Gets State Award in Poland; Worked with Einstein

Prof. Leopold Infeld close collaborator of the late Albert Einstein who is now on the faculty of the University of Warsaw, has been awarded the Polish Government’s “state prize” for “outstanding contributions to theoretical physics,” according to an announcement by the Polish Embassy here. The award to Prof. Infeld was one of a number of “state prizes” given to leading Polish scientists and artists during the celebration of the country’s “National Day”, observed July 22.
