Jewish settlement leaders hired a private security company to help the Israel Defense Force protect settlements and roads. The head of the Binyamin regional council, Pinchas Wallerstein, said the activities were coordinated with the IDF to boost security while eliminating rumors of the establishment of “settler militias” to patrol the roads.
