Jewish traders here are bitterly disappointed at the declaration of the vice-minister of finance, M. Skarzynski, that the complaints regarding over-taxation are unfounded and that the Jewish merchants of Vilna are prosperous. Skarzynski is said to have visited Vilna to investigate the numerous complaints about over-taxation.
