The national policy committee of the Jewish War Veterans agreed this weekend to “withhold action” on proposals to boycott Shell Oil Company products in retaliation for the company’s withdrawal of its operations from Israel.

The JWV decision is conditional upon the completion of negotiations with the company which, JWV national commander Benjamin Chasin said might “change the complexion” of his organization’s attitude. If the negotiations do not come to a satisfactory conclusion, he added, the JWV will “reassess its decision to withhold action. “
