Efforts to create a strong united front in British Jewry to deal with the German Jewish situation are meeting with rapid success. It is now apparent that the Joint Foreign Committee, through which the Anglo-Jewish Association and the Board of Deputies of British Jews function jointly in foreign matters, will soon include in its membership representatives of other British Jewish organizations and several outstanding Jewish leaders such as Lord Alfred Melchett, chairman of the Council on Trades and Industries, and Major H. L. Nathan, M.P.
Among the organizations which it was learned will soon become affiliated with the Joint Foreign Committee are some which were formed since the advent of the Hitler regime in Germany to act on certain phases of the situation resulting. The Joint Foreign Committee thus will become fully representative of all phases of British Jewish life in dealing with matters of foreign policy.
In this connection it is learned that an important meeting of the Board of Deputies of British Jews which was to have taken place tomorrow has been postponed for a week due to the necessity of completing technical arrangements.
