Jews in Argentina Submit Petition on Palestine to Government; 40,000 Ask for U.N. Force

A petition bearing the signatures of 40,000 Jews was presented here today to government officials by officers of the DAIA, central Jewish representative body in Argentina, urging that the Argentine delegation to the U.N. Security Council be instructed to support the Palestine Commission’s request for in international military force in Palestine.

A resolution calling for the launching of a campaign to raise $250,000 for the “Keren Mifalim Konstructivim”–Fund for Constructive Works in Palestine–was adopted at conference of the Argentine General Zionist Party held in Cordova.

The parley also authorized its executive committee to discuss with the other Zionist parties in Argentina the possibility of setting up a single body to represent all Zionist viewpoints in the country. It was suggested that such a group be chosen ##y a popular vote.
