The Jewish population of the Republic of Latvia will not undergo the hardships imposed by the compulsory Sunday rest law, it became known here today following a meeting of the Judicial Committee of the Latvian parliament.
The committee accepted the motion introduced by the Jewish deputies to leave the regulation of the Sunday rest ordinance to the local administrations of the towns and villages, who were instructed to act in accordance with the requirements of the situation.
