A group of Jewish prisoners of war were recently repatriated from the Soviet Union, it was revealed here today in dispatches from Transylvania.
The men, all Transylvania Jews, were captured while serving in slave Hungarian army slave labor battalions on the Russian front during the war. They were enslaved by the pro-Nazi Horthy regime while Transylvania was a province of Hungary. The repatriates expressed satisfaction with the humane treatment which, they said, was accorded then in the Soviet Union.
