John W. Davis, Democratic candidate for the United States presidency in 1924, and Col. Edward M. House, voiced their support for Col. Herbert H. Lehman, Democratic candidate for Lieutenant-Governor of New York State, in statements issued.
“The nomination of my friend, Col. Herbert H. Lehman, as the Democratic candidate for Lieutenant-Governor, gives me great personal satisfaction,” Mr. Davis declared. “The party is to be congratulated on its selection. His splendid financial training and wide general experience peculiarly fit him for the post. The wide sphere of his humanitarian labors greatly endear him to his fellow men, and justify the hope that they will reward him at the polls. If elected, as I am confident he will be the position will be filled with efficiency and dignity.”
In his statement, Col. House said: “I very much hope that Mr. Roosevelt and Col. Lehman will be successful.”
