Joint Defense Appeal Gets $1,000,000 in Contributions at Tenth Anniversary Dinner

More than $1,000,000 in contributions toward the $6,000,000 nation-wide 1951 goal of the Joint Defense Appeal were announced here last night at a dinner marking the 10th anniversary of the organization, which is the joint fund-raising body for the American Jewish Committee and the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith.

More than 1,000 persons attended the dinner held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Edmund Waterman, national treasurer of the J.D.A., was presented with a scroll lauding his thirty years of service to the Jewish community. The presentation was made by Judge Joseph M. Proskauer.
