The 1960 nationwide Joint Defense Appeal fund raising drive for $6,100,000 was launched here tonight at a dinner in Hotel Plaza attended by more than 300 community leaders and presided over by Irving M. Engel, honorary president of the American Jewish Committee.
The Joint Defense Appeal is the Joint fund-raising arm of the American Jewish Committee, and the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith. Andrew Goodman was honored at the dinner for his JDA leadership.
