Jordan’s King Abdullah called on the Israeli government to reopen peace talks with the Palestinians. “After Palestinian President Yasser Arafat’s death, there is no longer an excuse for the Israelis and some members of the U.S. administration” not to revive peace talks “on the grounds that there is no peace partner,” Abdullah said last Friday via satellite to a global media meeting in Portugal.
