Mr. Salamon Berger, founder and Director of the Croatian Ethnographic Museum, was awarded the Order of the White Eagle First Class, on the occasion of his seventieth birthday. The Jugo-Slavian Government has also awarded him a pension for life of 60,000 dinar annually.
For many years M. Berger collected valuable articles of national Croatian peasant art. He founded an artistic weaving school which has trained over 2,000 women, and created the home industry in Croatia. He organized exhibitions of Croatia national art in all parts of the world. He presented to the Croatian people the collection which under his direction has grown to be the present National Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
