Kansas City’s first Jewish Welfare Federation campaign got off to a flying start this week as a united Jewry, with the sympathetic support of the press and other agencies, initiated a drive to raise $110,000 for thirty national, local Jewish communal and overseas relief activities. Forty thousand dollars was received in contributions at the launching of the appeal.
The drive, the largest this city has seen in recent years, received renewed impetus when it was announced Thursday that the trustees of the Carrie J. Loose Fund, established by Henry Wilson Loose in honor of his mother, had contributed $25,000 toward the campaign quota.
